Okay, so I plug in my charger yesterday. The red "check connection" warning light comes on for battery two. I check the connection and tighten the nut on one terminal. Try again, same warning light. I unplug the cord, reconnect, same light on. I look at the fuses, they were fine. I look and see my series connector has some corrosion on the wire so I clip it and put a new loop on, reattach, same light comes on. I have had a battery go bad in the past, and that caused both "check connection" lights to come on (I assume because they are wired in series) so I doubt that, as well as the fact that both my batteries were purchased this March.

The charger is a Minn Kota 210D, it is one year old.

Anyone have ideas I haven't tried yet? I might try switching battery 1 & 2 which might tell me if its a problem with the charger.

yup, switch the terminals from one battery to the other.if it sends the same message you have a charger problem.if not then load test your batteries.

Check the charger's in-line fuses with an ohmmeter or continuity meter. I've had bad fuses that "looked" OK.

Yep, as said, swap the battery leads. If it stays with the battery, then that battery may be at a level that the on board cannot start the charge. Use a portable automotive charger to maybe kick start it, and build enough charge where the on board will work.

If it follows, then it's likely the charger. Minn Kota can be pretty good with warranty if it's close, so I would call them.

It turns out it was the battery, which was also under warranty so I got a new one.
