Location: Van Buren, Indiana | Hello guys long time since I have been on! I posted about this motor awhile ago thinking I had a prop slipping issue but I have ruled that out. I replaced the power pack right when I bought it so I know that is not it. What's happening is you can put muffs on it and its starts up right away and runs great in neutral shift it into gear revs up like a rocket and runs fine. get in in the water same thing but when you put the hammer down it just runs about idle speed at WOT! if you trim the motor up almost out of the water it comes up to WOT, trim it down again, back to idle. Plugs are new with no ours on them because it has ran this way since this time 2013. wondering about coils. When you do drop the hammer it kinda tries to jump up, but falls off in seconds. Anyone have this issue before? I really know why I wanted to buy new when I got my '04 Lowe Stinger 180 w? '05 150 Johnson, I miss fishing at will!! hope the fishing is going well for all!! Any input is much appreciated!!

| Had a similar issue on a 115 Johnson. Would Rev as long as it wasn't under load. Was a fuel issue. Mine had a vacuum leak in the fuel bowl before the carbs. I threw a bunch if money and a season of bad fishing trips at it trying to fix it. Cost me a 100 bucks to take it to a shop and get it fixed. |

Location: Van Buren, Indiana | I installed a 3psi fuel pump to ensure fuel to the carbs and am still having the loss of exceleration. If you tilt the motor up to relieve pressure it throttles right up, tilt it back down drops to idle speed! I was wondering if anyone has had this issue. The fish are moving well and everyone is backed up 2 weeks at least Thanks for any advice! |

Location: SE WISCONSIN | I had a 1990 70 hp that did the same thing my problem was a pice of plastic on the carburator linkage that opened the carbs. that broke it would rev fine in neutral and reverse but the carbs were not opening all the way and when under load it would not rev. |

Location: Van Buren, Indiana | Thanks R code! I'm going to check that out it sounds like what is going on. I appreciate your help. I did the compression test initially was within 5% on all three cylinders, but did not do a leakdown. I will keep updating as I figure it out! Good luck on your fishing guys! |
