| My Helix 5 displays temperature while on any view that doesn't include the map. i.e. if i have the map/chart on half or full screen, it displays COG instead of temp. I'd like it to show both, if possible.
unsuccessful googling this so far, and couldn't find it while scrolling through settings, etc. Your help is appreciated. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I have a 858 and 999 in my boat and noticed the same thing. I've only found a little info and it sounds like COG will display any time a mapping page is up. I haven't read this, but the next thing I'm going to try is to have the active side of the screen be the sonar side and see if that works. Other thing is to maybe have a different box be temperature and see if that works, but I doubt it.
I also read something that this happened with one of the latest updates. I also read something about being on a sonar page and turning COG off. I almost always have a map up and it sure would be nice to be able to read temp at the same time. |

| Yeah 959 units force me to have cog with any map configuration and I have tried everything to get it off except try setting the active side to sonar.
I have temp depth time displayed and I have the box empty were cog goes. And I have the other blank space where the bottom normally rides across so I have a little less clutter in that area.
I wish I would never ever see the cog. Ever humminbird!!! That's my biggest grumble! That and I wish they made units that had si and down imaging only nothing else no gps no temp no options except si images( to keep the cost way down) . I'd buy that to sit next to my sonar gps two 8's side by side is better in my mind than a 10" split 3 ways. |

So Fishysam, you're saying you DO have temp displayed while viewing maps? How did you do that? |

| On my 959's I went into settings and I have 5 slots to pick and choose the desired location for each part of information and I noted cog was spot two so I leave that empty. And set temp to spot 4 |

Location: Hayward, WI | Fishysam, thanks for the tip. I changed my coordinates box to temp when I got home and all is well. Apparently just the 2nd box is the one that can't be changed to temp.

Location: SE WISCONSIN | You should be able to select COG readouts in your menus I will double check tomorrow but I always have a temp read out even if I'm on full map using follow the contour feature. |
