Smallie fishing this spring I have gotten my xrap chomped off 4 times and I actually was able to see my lures suspended 3 of the four times. Good deal haha when I could get them back that easily.

Interesting to see that it still took about 24 hours for them to shake a barbless hook! I've long since maintained that there's no reason to use barbed hooks, but of course that's just my opinion. But I know several very experienced anglers who share it. The point is that it's helpful to get some objective data to now back that up.

Most of the Pike I catch are actually caught on mono with a 9" wire leader....so I have some shock absorption AND I get a great in-net release 99% of the time. The bait never really gets hooked deep enough to cause issue. Even with a huge set motion, I lose a few to inadequate hook set ....sure. But it helps my technique (never, ever have any slack or fish goes bye-bye) and helps the fish a bit I think.
