My lake was solid for both the 2013 and 2014 openers. Now I'm on a plane flying home from Phoenix missing this years opener. Poor timing of a conference. I was hoping to see some reports of day one. Your input might give me hope for tomorrow?

Caught a few crappie and two stellar smallies. I unfortunately didn't spend as much time fishing as I did fiddling around with new electronics.

Is that code for trolling?

It's not legal here yet. When it is, however, I have my 3XL sweat pants ready to go. I'll have to ask Todd how to avoid a seat pedestal blow out.

I bought the boat at an Mi6 auction, word to the wise never ask yourself, "what does this button do?", while in the boat.

We went 1 for 4 with a 35 and seen 15 more. Both depth finders which worked two weeks ago took a #*#*. White screen of death on one and the other won't stay on for more than a minute. I was not cheesing so not a valid report for this section.

We (OFM) have an Elite going on the the California Delta, so time on the water yesterday was a couple hours.

We fished Bait Rigs Slo-Pokes and 3" Berkley Minnow Grubs on Pelican. It's been 20 years since we've seen that many boats out there. The new limits on walleyes have brought back the 'Opener' in this area. Pelican is 3 per angler 15" to 20", no harvest from over 20" to 24", 1 fish in the limit can be over 24". Ours were all 16" to 17" males.

I am very please to see the slot limits imposed.

Sue and I are going to hit a small lake this afternoon once we get all the Bassmaster Elite assets distributed. It's supposed to storm like crazy this evening.

Edit: The trip to new water was a good one.

Spent the opener on Holcombe and we caught nothing. Couldn't find crappies or walleyes, not even a stinkin slimy pike. Saw 2 small crappies and a 7" walleye get caught & tossed back. Talked to a few people & nobody was catching anything. Oh well, this is just practice time anyway, 20 days until the real fishing begins here north of Hwy 10.

I'm at a loss for words really. I'm not really sure what's going on up by me, but Father Time are dealing some odd cards up by me in Land O Lakes. Perch are getting gigantic, walleyes scarce, cabbage is all but gone and I'm going on 1.5 years since I've caught a northern.

Musky fishing over the last couple of years has slowed, but not horrendous. I'm still seeing as many fish as ever, even caught the biggest fish I've ever seen out there on a fathead last weekend.

Water temps on Palmer started about 57-58 on Saturday and Sunday we saw 61-62.

Fished all weekend with a buddy and we boated two and lost two others. One little guy on a spinner bait and I boated this 45 incher on a hellhound. Pretty good opener for us.

You still owe me a 30 pack for such a superb net-job!!! and mine wasn't THAT little, it WAS bigger than 31 inches.

Fished the Wisconsin River Sunday only, had to guide turkey hunters Saturday. The main river channel was 56 degrees, but I found shallow bays off the river in the afternoon that were 66 degrees. Went to work in them with small bucktails and caught one 38" and missed another in the same class. I don't measure or photo smaller fish. Good opener.

The Milwaukee Chapter of Muskies Inc defended its traveling trophy title against the Quad County (Illinois) Chapter of Muskies Inc on Pewaukee Lake in what I believe was the 27th Annual event. It is all day Saturday and until noon on Sunday. The fish, atleast the muskies, weren't as cooperative as they could have been, with Milwaukee boating a 35.5" & 34"er against Quad County's two 34.5"ers. Saturday the muskies showed themselves when compared to Sunday, but weren't eating. A surprising number of smallmouth and largemouth bass and some real nice northerns supplied catching action. It was a great weekend with after all these years, great friends.
Water temps were upper 50's and lower 60's.

Its actually my PB by a 1/2 inch, pretty cool way to start off the season! Really clean fish, no visible marks from the spawn. We did see a couple other fish swimming around that were beat up.
