Replaced the thumb bar on my brothers Revo Toro HS and this part was loose in the reel after putting it back together. Anyone know what it is?

putting it back together, everything was set and now the reel wont engage. Works just fine without the springs in the reel. Any ideas?

Be sure both springs are seated properly and the ends are all the way in the holes. The heavy spring goes at the top and the long tag comes through the release cam. The other spring goes through the kick lever and down into the hole right next to where the screw goes in the bottom side of the side plate from the outside of the reel. Hopefully this helps. The screw in the thumb bar is there for a reason...
