Location: New Jersey | I bought a Swim Whizz at an antique shop today for $2. I was curious to know if it's an original or one of the newer ones. It has 3 hook hangers, and the ones on the BigBear site have 2. Also, it says "Homer LeBlanc Tackle Mfgr" on the side. I know Big Bear advertises them as the Homer LeBlanc Swim Whizz, but not sure if it says that on the side. If anyone has feedback I'd appreciate it. I know it's not worth much and it's in far from perfect shape, but am just curious to know what my $2 bought me. |

| Motown memories! By description, sounds like the ol' LeBlanc Swim Whizz from the early 80's, (my first lure purchase as a kid)!
Around the Detroit area back then, they were mass produced plastic lures sold at almost every Sports Store that sold fishing equipment. Other than Pikie Minnows, there was very little variety for musky lures there. Bigger clones of that design followed (& exploded) soon after with the Believer. Flatfish & Eppinger were Detroit based, too. |

Location: Western U.P. | It sounds like one of the old LeBlanc lures. I have an 8" Swim Whizz from the early 80's (3 trebles), and it still catches fish. Good lure to bring in slowly on the surface, as it makes A LOT of noise. It's caught some big Largemouth, Smallmouth, Northerns, and quite a few Muskies over the years. A good buy for $2. Get a lot of use out of it. |

Location: New Jersey | Very cool. I was hoping it was an original. I was pretty sure since I called the Musky Shop and Jim said the newer ones have Big Bear written on them and it looks like all the newer ones have only 2 trebles. Not sure if I'll use it yet. I have a very small collection of old lures I've scored at antique shops that aren't made any more. Thanks for the feedback guys. |
