I have seen the little jerkos out ther but are there little squirkos out? Has anyone wacked the tail off a little jerko and made one yet? Figured that bait would be great with this cold spring. Just curious if anyone has done it and if it has good action.

Cory.

Cory,
I talked to Keith about this at the Chicago Show and he STRONGLY recommended NOT to try making a squirkko version out of the 5.5 incher. Apparently he has tried it and found that they are very sensitive to weighting and balance.... so it is a more difficult "tinkering" project than the larger model was.

Can it be done? Probably.... but I haven't tried it yet myself. Maybe someone else has and will teach us how??? Please? Pretty please?

You can alway see if you can find one of my Muskie Treats out there. Same principal, only more of a side to side action. I know Bullfrog bought 4 during the Ashton Auction. I've got a small batch of baits going right now, but with the baby coming any day now I may or may not get them done for opener.

Jlong is right on, the size of the bait makes it very sensitive to weight and balance issues. Keith has been working on a little squirko for some time. I have two prototypes that I will be playing with today as a matter of fact. Hopefully Keith at Llungen Lures will get this one dialed in by years end. ( This will be another hot little bait for many multi-species as the the little Jerko / Jerko 5.5 is now. )

Patience is a virtue.

Well it just stopped raining and it's time to go and hit the water.

Musky treats glider is awesome. I recommend it highly.

Don't modify the baby jerko as statyed earlier. They are working on a baby squirko and as astated the weighting will be different. It was talking about during a guest chat with the maker himself.

We are working on the baby squirkos now that the regular ones are up and running. We will most likley make the Baby Squirko (Squirkie)a 2 hook Modle with the front hook moved up and the addition of another hook on the bottom in front of the tail. This requires re tooling and could be a wile , we are shooting for beg of july. I will be doing Fox river vallys poolside demo wed may 14th in carpentersville Il and i will have some baby squirkos to demo.
thanks

Keith,

I also think this is great news as I am a big fan of the Squirko. I live in the Chicago area and was wondering if your poolside demo is open to the public and what time your demo starts? Please let me know.

I would love to attend and get my hands on a demo bait.

Thanks
