I am planning a trip with a good friend of mine to come down to kayak and fish the Montgomery/Osewago stretch this weekend. I was just wondering if anyone has any advice for fishing this river in general? any advice would be very helpful!

River was pretty high when I drove by this weekend...look for slack water.

It is high and muddy. Try the Montgomery dam, the mill st bridge and area just above it, I have seen fish sitting in the wake of those rocks from rt 25! Some inlets downstream, waste treatment plant and a creek inlet at the park by rt 34 bridge. Would not consider the a+ water but there are so.e fish. Better in Yorkville, next dam down, you can portage that dam.

Just left there. The water is high and fast. Downsize don't be throwing giant lures its snag city.
