Location: Hudson,WI | Does anybody have any tips/tricks to Jig fishing?
Last year I bought a bunch of JMac jigs with different tails and I tried jigging with no success. Any thoughts on areas I should be jigging, or how they should be worked? I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong!! I was letting it sink to the bottom then working it like a bulldawg, pull pause back to the boat. Thanks!!

| This might help. It was filmed on a river but alot of it can be applied to lakes. One solid strike jigging and you won't want to fish any other way.

Bondy, I have jigged the bondy bait for many, many hours in a lake and in deep holes in a small river but haven't had any luck. Still trying, I'd love to catch a fish using this method but not sure what i'm doing wrong. I also have thrown a Royal Orba for many hours this winter and spring to no avail. I'd love to catch a fish on one of your baits I just can't seem to get it done. |

| Well thanks for buying the baits! Could be that jigging on those waters is not a high percentage deal, possibly due to baitfish species that are present, and the way they look when they appear vulnerable or it could be the color you bought. If you are in a spot where you are sure they live try just holding the bait at their level without hopping it. It's heavy enough to stay put down deep and there should be enough boat or current movement to spin the blade. Thd Bondy has won 19 tournaments on vastly different waters so keep at it and you'll be hooked! As for the Royal it might be a little big for winter water temps in my best guess....hope this helps some! Jon |

| We have found the Bondy Jr's are good for casting presentations (regular Bondy's too), so are J-Mac and a saltly shaker tail combo's. We work them like a bulldawg/Medussa....swim the jigs amost of the time however. |

Location: Detroit River | For jigging musky I just follow Jon Bondy around to all his secret spots & imitate him. Then when he's not looking I cut off his drift so I can get to the fish before him. Oh, wait! That wasn't me I was thinking of, that was another guide trying to find fish so when he did the fishing show shoot he could look good for the cameras and at the same time he can try selling some knock-off lures. |
