September! Its beautiful out there in the fall, the water temps are great for fishing, and the fish start feeding up. When they really start moving in september, it can be fast and furious

September for me too, right when those nights start to cool and the temps come off their summer peak. Fish are.very active at this time. Post spawn would be my.second favorite, same deal.

September. Little or no boat traffic. Absolutely peaceful. (And the fishing's pretty good too.)

Anytime while the season is open, but if i had to pick september for sure because of the nice weather, but favorite fish time would be october into november when the water is primed up for the big fat females to come out and play.

first time the water sees 72 degrees with a good moon phase ... usually tees up that last week in June! can be fantastic and you know when you need to be on the water.

I prefer July and August. Simply because that's when I get to fish the most on my trips. September is great, but the wind is usually howling and I'm limited on where I can fish on a 3 day trip.

The fall is the best and hardest time of year . Do I fish or go hunting. If I go fishing and don't see anything I think I should have gone hunting. Then when I go fishing my dogs look at me like what the f.... but it's all good

depends on the year ... i know the cottonwoods can be blooming during the high school state golf tournament timeframe which would be a couple weeks earlier. kid is terribly allergic and it's caused problems. i've come to hate cottonwoods! but, seriously that first warm up and june supermoon ... if you're not on the water you are missing out.

Here in southern Michigan the temps on the inland lakes are almost always too high to safely fish in July. Last year was an exception for the most part

Prime Time!

There's an old French saying that comes to mind, which basically translates to:

The hour between the dog and the wolf.

I'll take those sundown hours any time of year as a favorite time.

Late August and early September have been really good to me locally. Otherwise the middle of June in Eagle river or when the weeds have started turning green again.

The old Lindner breakdown was 'summer peak', when the weed beds finally hit full development yet the baitfish schools haven't overwhelmed the lake. In Northern Wisconsin this is usually mid to late June, seems like every specie of fish is on the move and feeding. I know the fall is great, but there's just too much hunting to be done.

Safe ice over green weeds in early winter is a close second.

I love taking a full week in septeber surounding the full moon to try 10-12 new waters... while using the full moon and working on a quality lake/river I am sure to be a winner!!!!.... last year I fished a new river in central wisconsin, and my boat partner landed a 49inch fish on a water I had fished only a few times without seeing anything.... September is beautiful and furious!

I might mention, rivers are great in early fall when boat traffic dies on lakes... because they die harder on most rivers!!!!

Two times of the year ... Musky opener - that first week or so. The long wait over winter and anticipation makes this time so much fun. The other time is September full moon period ... less traffic, no bugs and fantastic scenery.

First day out in the spring. Fishing usually sucks, but it's great to be back out there. End of June for all species. Labor Day through the end of the season. Last day out in the fall, especially if you get a warm sunny day with no wind. I'd take that day over ALL the others. The lakes are empty, there are no boats, no piers, no noise anywhere. Feeding windows are few and far between, but there's not much better than a late fall day when you have the lake to yourself.
