Fox lake is probably still frozen and like the rest of the southern Wisconsin musky lakes, closed to musky fishing untill the first weekend in may.

Stopped by Channel lake this afternoon. Bout 30-40 yds. open water from the
shoreline. Rest of Lake is one big floating chunk of honeycombed icebergs.
All the channels are open though. Still too early, won't be long though. Lots
of dead gizzard shad floated in to the shore, sea gulls eating good. water temp
(cold).

Will be tough with the dead and dying shad. Been my experience in this situation muskies wont need to chase food untill post spawn.

Just a heads up.....make sure you have a chain sticker & Il. license.
DNR is out there early in the year. My son & I launched our boat,
motored to first spot, looked up & here comes the little john boat w/
men in green. We weren't even out there five minute on our first trip
of the year!! Now that's service to write home about. Good luck fishing.
