Jerkbaits have been hot this year for me. I've taken five fish over 33" so far, all of them on jerks. Of the five, two have been taken on the figure eight. One on a Squirrely Burt and one Squirko. The other three have come on Reef Hawg, Viper, and Squirko. While I've had many follows with other baits without plastic tails, the only two that bit in the figure eight hit baits with plastic tails. What are your results with plastic tail baits? Does it seem like fish hit these better at boatside than jerks with no plastic? I love weighted jerks and gliders and it seems when nothing is moving fish, these baits at least get them to take a look. But when they do follow something like a Viper, there isn't a lot of action at boatside even though I twitch and roll these baits in the figure eight. I'd like to hear your experience and comments........Thanks

Todd, I've never gotten a fish to hit a jerkbait in a figure 8, but dont' use the squirko or squirrley burt too much. Were these fish caught in the gin bottle? I haven't been there yet this year but would like to get out there.

Zach,

No gin bottle fish yet. Although I did have action there a week ago. None in the net, but again all action on the Squirko. Had on hit in a figure 8, a small one grab the tail and another t-boned it but no hooks in any of them. Thats muskie fishin'...........I may get out there this weekend or early next week. Water temps need to warm a little. We need to meet up sometime...........Later.....
