Location: Waukee, IA | I picked up a couple of these today on clearance. Anybody use them regularly? If so is it a pretty good double 8 or am I getting what I paid for? |

| Surprised you have not heard about the great quality of spanky's. |

Location: Waukee, IA | I usually don't have issues with any bucktail quality, I actually prefer lighter built one's usually. I've heard they are built heavier, but that's only a quantitative value rather than qualitative feedback from users. |

Location: Waukee, IA | Do they spin up right away? Most complaints I hear about double 8s is that they don't spin well and with the heavy blades and wire I would think it is an issue |

| Spankys are well made, and spin every time. I can't think of a time that the blades had a hard time spinning. Dan makes a great product, and is one of the only bucktails my wife and I fish consistently. |

| They spin right away, easy to cast, stay down when burned, and move fish. I like them better than most other 8s |

| Cool website too for building your own. I just built a double 8 with green martian hex blades and $9 bass skirt. Cant wait to throw the thing. Did you get the fireball or shocker skirt? |

| Fireballs and shockers use the same skirts, just the 8's usually get 1 skirt, whereas the shocker has four. The firebirds are Spankys marabou. |

Location: Waukee, IA | I'm not certain which skirt I got, but I picked up two, crappie and larsons perch. I would imagine they are the fireballs, but still not bad for $11/each. I've always liked running bucktails a little deeper so I'm excited to hear that they're heavy. Now I need the water to soften. |

Dont we all?
Remember that not only the heavier blades and hardware also added to the weight, but the thicker blades also rotate slower creating less lift thus running deeper.

Location: Waukee, IA | Scheels in West Des Moines. They're resetting the fishing section and all of their spanky's blades were marked down 25% for some reason. Also got a hellhound for $12. |

| You got a good deal for sure. I have never had a problem with any spanky baits at all.
I love his double 8's only ones I will buy any more after having problems with 3 other brands. |
