How will the all plastic slammers hold up to the abuse of being thrown in the rocks on LOTW?

they will get beat up, just like any lure you throw at rocks. So go for it

Are the rocks on LOTW harder than other places?

Not as hard as your head I would guess.

Easy killer.

The plastic bodies should hold up very well. If you're really ripping them into rocks, you might break a lip, but banging rocks hard is pretty tough on most any lip.

I think you'd do fine using them.

Banging them off rocks on the cast will probably break any brand. After a couple years of hard use, I managed to break a Mag Shallow Raider by doing just that, this past fall. Split in half. However, that very same bait took LOTS of abuse and kept going strong when bumping and banging into rock on the retrieve. Broke the lip of an equally well use jointed Shallow Raider on the same trip. That one also hit a rock on the cast. No issues with durability during the retrieve though. Tried a 7" Slammer on LOTW a couple years back. Body held up fine, but I did break the "glued in" lip loose. Probably much of it breaking was my own fault. The lip was wedged in a crack, in a boulder, and I actually pulled the boat to it. I'll probably try another, but I do prefer molded lips like the one found on Shallow Raiders. Tom

I've used them a lot on LOTW and Crow Lake and they hold up better than a lot of baits. The single wire construction, solid plastic body and Lexan lip take a lot of punishment and don't leak/take on water after time like others can. I mainly use Slammer's standard 10" and 12" minnowbaits and the 10" Deep Shad and 10" Deep Minnow. I troll and cast all of them. For casting, the Deep Shad is one of the best 'rock grinders' I have used and the Deep Minnow is deadly crawled slowly along the surface. Also try the Custom X KC Special for another great bait to crawl on the surface.

Buy a few so you have backups when the lips break. If you fish around rocks you will break lips.
