I'm thinking about traveling up to the park falls area in late July and thought I might try fishing butternut. Anybody ever fish it? How's the water clarity?

It's been a few years since i fished it and if i remember correctly the water was pretty dark. However, that's the type of water that i'm used to. Boated a couple of low 40's. I would fish it again in a heartbeat. Neat lake with some nice weed-lines and some nice points.

Visibility is less than 2-3 feet. Pretty easy lake to fish, good numbers of 30-42 inch fish. Weeds get pretty nasty around your time frame. Lots of muskie pressure.

Nice lake to fish, and the fish in the 40's were really chunky. Red for blades and top water was a good choice. Not orange.....red.
