Still checking my options for a mid-june trip and have started looking pretty heavy at this chain. Would anyone like to comment on what I might expect? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Manitowish is hands down my favorite body of water in Wisconsin during June. Find good weed beds and you'll find fish... but on this body of water, I highly recommend dark and natural color baits, especially using rubber and top water. rootbeer or copper color medussa and Black walk the dog are my two favorite. One key to success is fishing right at sunrise until around 10am, and the last few hours of light, and into the dark. Boating traffic gets heavy during the day, so fish activity really dies in the middle of the day. Stop by Greers pier and tiki bar on spider during the day, Awesome place to relax!

I agree June is a great time here. Each lake is different which allows you to fish all morning, day, and night and stay in contact with fish by jumping to the next lake. Sure the traffic can get heavy, but I have found that some lakes are not affected by it at all during the middle of the day. Any color can be effective on this chain, and a lot of it depends on the lake you are on. Don’t overlook bright colored baits on the clear water lakes.

Def one of my Favorite places to fish! PB came out of there just shy of 49" and I lost the biggest fish I have ever seen in my life on that chain. Traffic can be heavy on some lakes not so much on others so you can fish all day. Most of our luck has actually been mid day.

There are a few primitive camping sites located on the Chain. I know Island Lake has at least one. Pretty cool to set up camp, fish all day and night, and then beach your boat and get a few winks before repeating.

I would agree with this as well. Not sure if you looked into this resort, but it was nice and not too terribly expensive when we stayed as a family.

PM replied should help! We used to stay at the Northwoods resort before they went private. Its next door to Little Bohemia Now I stay on Big St and travel to the Chain to fish near everyday except last year we tried some other lakes. Wish I would have headed to Manitowish!

Anglers Cozy Cottage is a nice place to stay. I have stayed there a couple of times. Check out the pics on their site, I'm surprised I am still on the site.
