| Unless it warms up sooner this year I would go to melton in late feb. Once it starts to warm definatley cave run as multiple fish days are the norm in the spring.

Location: 15 miles east of Lake Kinkaid | Melton Hill is an amazing fishery with a very steep learning curve. If you just want to catch a musky, MH is not a numbers fishery at all. That being said, the size class of fish is comparable to any of the best lakes in North America. |

| He is a vermilion guy, he can catch on quick. If you do Melton hill you should hit below the dam to, I saw a hunt for big fish, ol larry was catching some insane huge stripers. Always wanted to go there to get a multi species trip in. in Melton for muskies and below for trout and stripers. Stripers that big hit shadzillas and Muskie gear looked about right.

Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | Well, I was going to head down there this week but the extended forecast is calling for REALLY cold temps for the next 10 days or so.
You guys on Cave may see ICE on the lake the next few days...-1 for one night.
Melton Hill doesn't seem to be much warmer.
Maybe the first of March. |

Location: Cave Run Lake KY. | Cave Run can turn on fast in March, and stay good all spring right into June. SO many Lakes and so little time. Come on down!!!! I like Cave Run when the lake floods and we sight fish musky in the trees . It's a blast to see and catch big fish that just blow up right by the boat. Marv. |

Location: E. Tenn | 4 degrees this morning at Oak Ridge, the same tonight, and a winter storm warning through Saturday, the steam plant wasn't running last trip out, but that was a couple of weeks ago.
Keep in mind an inch or two of snow shuts down EVERYTHING around here.. and apparently so do near zero temps.. |
