| I'm planning to head up to Vilas County in early June. I'm getting married the 5th and we are paying for a lot of the wedding. She suggested a trip up north to relax and fish since we can't afford a honeymoon. I've never been up there and with so many lakes i figured I'd ask for advice. What lakes would you recommend to get action at that point in the year? I I'm looking to stay at a resort on a lake, and have been looking at the Eagle River Chain as a possibility. Thanks! |

| Eagle River Chain is a good call for action early season. Lots of other good waters available in the area too. Eagle Waters Resort and Wild Eagle Lodge would both be worth looking into for a nice honeymoon resort. |

Location: Almond, WI | I occasionally fish Wildcat early in the year. There's a resort on Kitten lake which is connected, but I haven't stayed there so I can't vouch personally. Eagle River is a good pick and has lots of lodging options. |

| Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I'm leaning toward the Eagle Chain, but haven't made reservations yet. If anyone has other suggestions feel free to p.m. me or post them. I'm planning on hiring a guide for a day to shorten my learning curve. What guides would you recommend up in that area? Thanks! |

| ER Chain is easy to fish that time of year. Get yourself on that body of water, pick a shoreline and start casting. Don't overlook those little channels that connect the lakes.

| Jeff Van Remortel is a great guide also! I fished with him last year and will again this year. Cool guy and knows where the fish are. I stay on Big St Germain so I think Ill have to hook up with Rob this year also. Cant believe in all the years going there I havent fished with Rob yet. |

Location: Wisconsin | +1 on Jeff Van Remortel. Best guide in the Northwoods. He is SO consistent. He is a very hard working guide! Him and Ben Michlig are two very close friends, and both of them are fantastic guides. |

Location: Watersmeet, Michigan | Although I love the Eagle River area, that chain sees a whole lot of recreational traffic. (As in, be careful when casting or you may hook a jet ski.) Have you considered the Boulder Junction area? Less pressured and you'll be a very short drive from a lot of great fishing.
