So I have a buddy that has a place on this lake and wants to go up there this summer. He isn't really a musky guy so he doesn't know about the population on the lake. DNR says they are there, but I trust you guys more. Is this a decent lake or would we be better off fishing other nearby lakes.

I have to start thinking about trips this winter is killing me and I already sharpened all the hooks in the boat. Thanks for the info!

If your buddy has a place there then I'd say by all means give it a try. Not noted as a particularly great musky lake but it does have a decent population and gives up some good ones from time to time. Shallow boat launch isn't the best but that probably keeps some folks off the lake. I'm sure your friend must have experience with getting on and off the lake.

It can be a tough lake to fish. But as Pete said, "there's a decent population w/ some nice ones in there." A little bit of everything structurewise and also a good suspended fishery. If you put in some time out there, you should be rewarded.

The OCD lake association folks who patrol the public landing and monitor its shallow depths are one of a kind, and very good at harassing visitors who want to enjoy their lake. It's a good late summer thru end of Nov. lake. Just wear some earplugs when you get there and launch as quickly as possible.
