I like this setup with the spoon on Double Ten

also comes in 6,8 10,12 blades.

I tried one at Cave Run and bought my own. The 8 blades pull harder than 10s with the extra drag of the spoon, but there's much more flash.

Cool.  Reminds me of the L&L Spooner from the late 80's.  Of course, that bait wasn't sporting double 10's

A small #5 French was all that was needed to boat a few 50 inchers from Lake Tomahawk back then and didn't require the big gear (rods and reels) that we have today to cast it.

How long has this bait been available?  Any testimonials?

I have been using this bait by the Northmen for 2 yrs. They tested many different spoons and other components where tested to get this action. If you fish a lake that sees a lot of twin blades and fish that won't commit on the 8 then you might want to pick 1 up. The extra kick seams to make them go nuts in the first turn. I've also had success trolling them at 3.5 to 4.8 m/hr.

For those that have used this bait, does the skirt get tangled where the spoon connects to the wire?

Looking at their underwater video you can see the skirt spinning so I would think that the skirt could get tangled.

I only casted mine for about 30 minutes, but didn't have a problem with it hanging up, and I am not the best with cast control. The spoon is shrink wrapped to a swivel and the skirt is cut to the length of the swivel. I assume the extra weight of the spoon also keeps the bait much more straight when casting.
