Hi everybody

Heading to cancun in two weeks for a weeding/vacation. Decided I want to try and get a barracuda in my lifetime. Have been looking over the sites, but seems lots of flyfishing. (Not my thing). Any recommendations on regular fishing gear? Especially targeting toothies?? Thanks for any input.

Are you staying on the strip in Cancun or south of Cancun? Playa Del Carmen? There are a lot of Panga's that can take you out in Playa right off the beach.

Do you have a travel rod? Bring it, cast spoons off the beach/piers, etc... and reel them really fast!

Although I have not fished for them I know that shiny lures work well especially spoons. And I belive you should have somewhere around 40 lb test. Good luck!
