Location: Central illinois | Want to buy a rod for throwing glider style jerk baits. Was wanting to know what peoples experience was with premier rods. Was looking at the 7 xh or the 7'6 h. The Lt the jerk is a 7'6 xh but wasn't wanting to spend that much. Premiers don't offer that combination. |

| The 7'6" heavy should work well for the gliders. |

Location: Minneapolis, MN | I would say it depends upon the baits you want to throw. If you plan to throw Squirko XLs, 10" or 12" phantoms, or 10" hell hounds, I would go with the 7' model and then extend the handle a few inches. |

Location: With my son on the water | To me rod length can be determined by the type of boat you normally fish out of (as in how high it is above the water) and the height of the person. So to be honest rod length IMO is a personal preference thing.
You may also want to check out the 7'6" xxh TI rod, very reasonably priced too. It has become my primary jerk bait rod. |

Location: Wisconsin | I bought an 8' heavy fast action this year and I primarily use it just for jerkbaits and top water. I was considering the 7'6" but I am happy I went with the 8'. If 8 is not an option go with the 7'6". |

Location: Grand Marais, MN | between your choices it comes down to weight of lures. if you throw really heavy ones, then you'd probably like the 7xh. I would recommend looking into an 8 foot model. it has xheavy and heavy offerings, and would be a great jerkbait rod, (as well as throw a just about everything else and be a bit longer which i find an advantage).
another option is the st croix mojo musky 7'2" extra heavy, which is a fine jerkbait rod and right in the middle of what you mentioned you looked at. I have this mojo and a premier 8h and there is nothing i would rather do with the 7'2"XH over the 8'H. both work great, just a bit longer does everything a bit better |

Location: Vilas County, WI | I'm 6'2" but I have shorter legs - only a 32" inseam pant. I fish out of Alumunacraft Magnum and a Classic. I throw the 7'6" Heavy, fast action... PM76HF. Awesome rod for glides/jerks. Perfect for my needs. |
