| I`m buying two pretty much identical lowrance units. Can I run them on one transducer using a simple blue T? |

Location: MN | If the Lowrance units allow networking you may be able to do it that way. Check the manuals.
I don't know what a blue T is but if you are suggesting just splitting the wiring and sending a copy to each sounder the answer is no, at least not simultaneously. You could conceivably have a switch that allows you to switch between displays. |

Location: WI | You can do it if you buy a nmea network kit. Link the two units and set the secondary units data to use the others sonar data. You can do the same with your gps puck |

Location: MPLS Metro | To my understanding, no you can not use one transducer for two units using the blue network connector. The blue network connector is only used to share waypoints and boat data such as engine temps, battery info, etc. by using different t-connectors attached to said sensors. I believe with the HDS models you can use the ethernet ports with an ethernet cable to share transducer information. |

| You can link them with an Ethernet cable, but then when your at the front of the boat, and transducer is at the back, your seeing what is 16 to 20' behind you, depending on how big your boat is. It's kind of a bummer to find a hump or point when your already on top of the structure. Another negative would be if you ever had a problem with the transducer, or the unit the transducer is hooked up to....you'll be flying blind, despite having 2 units on board. Personally, I would definitely put one at each end of the boat. |

| Thanks Slime. I don`t cast often. The bow unit is for my passenger to look at as we troll around. That way I don`t have to hear (How deep is it now?) or (Any Bait?) all day. So I just run an Ethernet cable from one unit to the next? That's it? |

| Yup,
Assuming they are HDS units, cause that's what I'm most familiar with....after connecting them with the Ethernet cable, you'll need to go to the menu on the bow unit and find the "source" option, which will list both units, and select the unit that is hooked up to the transducer. The bow unit will then show exactly what is being displayed on the rear unit, wherever you may have it mounted. The transducer in my trolling motor went out on me during a trip once, and doing this saved my butt! If you have any probs/questions, the customer service techs at Lowrance are easy to reach, and super helpful! |
