Does anybody have any experience with the MinnKota MKA-47 bracket. I've got a terrova and now purchased a used fortrex for when i'm hitting the rivers. I'm looking to get this bracket as I want to switch units out quickly. Wondering how secure it is/pros/cons whatever input you all may have. Thanks

Thats the model I have been using for many years and no issues. Though I dont take mine on and off often it does lock down tight. Are you getting two of these so you dont have to take off the mounting piece that attaches to the unit each time you plan to switch?

Minnkota offers the top bracket separately so would just get that to attach to motor number 2. I think this is the route i'm going to go unless any opinions suggest otherwise....thanks for your opinion

The only thing I have noticed is there is a little bit of play up and down. You will notice this if you pull back and forth on the motor. It isnt a major deal and I suppose there should be some play just so you can take it in and out.
If it was bothersome you could shim it. I have had this bracket for may years and lots of pounding on big water and it hasnt gotten worse at all.

Thats nice they offer just the top bracket separately.

I have the quick release bracket with mine and I've never had any issues. Easy on/off and never any concern about it being secure. I take mine off whenever I put my cover on because of how the trolling motor is mounted... Mine also has a slot to put a padlock on so nobody can run off with your trolling motor (would be a sight to see...).
