Subject: Lure spinner

Hey all, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything.  That’s because my shop has been packed up for the last year and a half.  I’m finally setting up shop again and can’t wait to start making lures.  Well my lure spinner did not fare the move very well and it was time to rebuild it anyway.  I just finished my plans for a new one and thought I’d share them here in case it’s helpful to anyone.

Mike,
Are you using a threaded rod for a reason. Are the holes in your wheels threaded?
Thanks,
Scott

Yes for a reason, first they are cheaper than drive shafts and will fit in the bearings good enough, but mainly I’ll use 3/8 nuts to jam secure the two plates or whatever other attachments I might want to have on the shaft.

Another option is the one used in the movie i'm linking to, just watch the last 10 seconds.
I think it's a smart solution

I built the drying wheel last weekend; total build time was about a six pack.   Here’s what it looks like.

The buna spider is soft rubber and fits within the two couplings to absorb misalignment

i just changed my spinner from a wheel to this cost is about $80 - $100 main cost is motor i spaced at 4" so i have 12 spots but you can move them in to 2" easily and would end up with 24 on a 3'-4' spinner

Hi,

What are you using to clamp the lure blank to the axle?
