The new Magnum shallow invader is $26.99. That is down right funny for a molded petroleum based product when gass is less than $50 a barrel.
I suppose I am out of line though, I mean you have to keep that lights on in the store and all that B. S.

plastics tie to natural gas and not crude oil ... unless you're in asia and it ties to naptha

but, they are driven more by supply and demand than by raw material index

I sell ya a tree for $500 ...large enough to make 500 wood baits that go for $79.00 each....good deal huh?

Gasoline is a refined product made from crude oil. CRUDE OIL is in that $50 a barrel range, not gasoline.
What sled posted
When do you think that lure was made? This week?
Plastisol, which those lures are made from, sells for about $35 a gallon without hardeners, colors, final painting, eyes, hooks, harnesses, split rings, packaging, etc. etc.
The retailer doesn't set the price, the manufacturer does by the wholesale pricing

And so on.

So to answer your question, yes, you are out of line, but not for the reason you posted.

Comparing hand crafted hand made to molded plastic is pure genius. Here's your sign!

tying petrochemicals to a barrel of crude is your sign that you have zero clue what you're talking about but that you think you do ... otherwise it's typical drama of the uneducated. the kind that is usually the style of kibitzing women or 14 year old boy-crazy girls.

$20.99 for a magnum shallow raider and $26.99 for a magnum shallow invader makes perfect sense to me. Tell me Steve is there any price set by a manufacturer for any product you wouldn't defend? To say it another way, is there any price put on any product that you would think might cause that manufacture to go bankrupt. You do realize companies go bankrupt and out of business don't you?

sometimes i price based on whether or not i think my competition can meet or beat the demand i have. if you think pricing is cost-based then i hope you don't own your own business.

Those petrochemical indexes are sky rocketing and of course are in no way linked to crude oil prices. Experts be #*^@ed I mean you own a keyboard sled.

that's good if it's made in China ... which petrochemical are you tracking for making baits? or was it just a google find? you adding the container freight from there? how much is that and does it offset the cost of your RM's you think are so cheap, or are you making them in the U.S.?

do you know the difference between crude and naphtha? google some more ... you can teach us all.

i'm gonna buy like a dozen of em ... in Cfollow's math by saving 15% at R&H's i'll offset all but 4% of the cost and get a net savings.

I'm sorry, what?

I didn't defend any pricing, I just pointed out your analysis is inaccurate.

So back to the sale...

I think i like last year better when they had deals for certain brands and it had its own landing page. Thoughts?

I tend to defend pricing by either buying, or not buying the product.

That said, what kind of reel works best on barrels of oil?
