Bob, the hook you are interested in is the Same hook-used on the cobra jig heads. I would think that they will hold up fine. I use this same hook in 6/0 on my power heads. I don't think bait rigs would choose a hook that would not do the job. IMO it is a very good hook.

Ive been pouring my own jigs with this exact hook for years now. If you get snagged, the hook will straighten eventually, which i actually like so i dont have to breakit off. Never had one even begin to fail or straighten out on a fish... Hard fighting deep water river fish up to 55"... with no problems. They work great. And theyre cheap too. Good luck.
