| I'm looking to get a rod for casting super shad raps. Super shads mainly and some similar weighted lures. What would give me the best distance? I'm thinking 8'6'' MH would be the best but I wouldn't know I've never used one. |

Location: Land of the Musky | 9' MH Tackle Industries does a great job casting this weight/type of bait. This rod was originally made for our Super Cisco baits. We also have the MH in 86 and 76 lengths.

| I like the price of the ti rod. I wouldn't mind spending the money on the long ranger if it's truly the best for long bombing these smaller baits because small crankbaits are my favorite thing to use. Is the long ranger a lot better than the premier 8'6'' MH? |

Location: Northern Wisconsin | Well it's almost 30% lighter than the premier. I held them both and went with the long ranger even though I have no complaints with the premiers. |

I am pretty sure I have just about every color super shad rap, including a few from TI, and they all get thrown on my Long Ranger ....
It also gets a work out from my topwaters, and the medium to large single bucktails I throw also. |

Location: Canada | I also throw larger (double tens) on my long ranger. I wouldn't say it's happy about it but it does the job when I'm limited to two rods on the certain smaller water I fish. Other baits I use with the long ranger usually consist of smaller lighter crank baits or smaller Bucktails/spinnerbaits. Love the long ranger - it's my go to rod usuually when in not throwing gliders on my 7'6" The jerk split grip. My long ranger is also split grip. |

Location: Minnesota | I don't use super shads much but if I wanted to cast it a mile I would use my predator heavy 9 foot 8 inch with a tranx pg .I use this set up for big blades .my last 3 rods have been predator 's . I have tried cheaper rods but I went back to my custom rods . |

Location: Aurora | Not easy to find but an 8'6" Lamiglas Paul Hartman XH is the ticket.
If you twitch, pop & fish um like a jerkbait the 8' Lamiglas PH XH may be a better fit.
Might depend on how far above the water your feet are but 6" can be a mile when it comes to jerkbait rods.

| How big of difference in casting distances would there be in 8' 8'6'' and 9'? All medium heavy. |

Location: NeverNever Lake | I have an 8'6" Paul Hartman Lammy xh. What a beast of a rod. A little heavy by today's standards, but the trade-off is strength. Boatside strikes will be the ultimate test of a muskie rod's durability in our circle. |
