Location: MPLS, MN | I was wondering opinions on Glide baits. I have a Giant Jackpot and a dancing raider now. I was thinking of buying a new one to play with this season. I'm deciding now between a Salmo Slider and a Magic Marker but am open to other ideas. Any suggestins?? Color Sugestions would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Location: Pewaukee, Wisconsin | The hot new glider would be the Drop Belly Glider from Slammer tackle Co. This bait has the glide, belly roll and the flash of a jerk bait. See Bills web site for more info.
The best glide bait I have found is the Undertaker, this bait workes like a Reef Hawg but can be made to go up and down along with the side to side glide. Lots of triggering effects can be done with this glide bait.
The Mini Power Probe is also a great new bait, this new Mini version walkes the dog with very to little effort. The new version is a suspender, you can work it under the water then pause it and start up again. This is deadly for early season muskies.

| Obfuscate Musky...do yourself a favor and get a Crappie Phantom. the bigger one. Probably one of the most versitle gliders...and seem to get chewed up... |

I leader with no ball bearing or snap (aka: a good homemade one) and about the length of the 5.5 will do the trick big time. They do dart like hell. They are fun to use. |

I haven't seen the chubby darter here yet. Though they are for sale, they are quite expensive. R&H sells them fairly cheap! |

Location: Illinois-Indiana | Slammer drop belly gliders are the new go to bait this year, the old stand by would have to be the undertaker, like Mike said this bait can do it all.
I think one of the most important things about a glide bait is hang time, also it has to be able to trigger a strike. An erratic bait instead of one that just goes side to side or does the same thing all the time will be the ticket. Why do you think so many fiah have been caught on the reef hawg, the bait is erratic.

| Phantoms are flat sided "sucker-shaped" jerkbaits that flop over (belly roll) in addition to the usual zig-zag. The same crew(Odyssey Lures) also distributes the Viper, which kind of looks like a jackpot but has a screw-in weight system. |

Location: Belgium | the viper is now 1" smaller and no longer has a screw-in weight and insert. The original glider was 7" long and had a 3/4oz weight and an insert. Don't know why they changed it to a smaller surface glider |
