OutdoorsFIRST is about the news of the day in the walleye, muskie, and ice fishing industries, reported in a fair and unique manner to an ever growing audience. Whether we're reporting a hot story, presenting high-quality tournament photography, editing a video, or conducting a radio interview, OutdoorsFIRST's commitment to the freshwater fishing industry will always remain the same. Do it FIRST and do it better than anyone else. The Beginning OutdoorsFIRST began in July of 2001 with MuskieFIRST.com, with the vision of providing daily, relevant, and cutting-edge content to specific groups of anglers, free from the nonsense and clutter so common to other hobby, part-time, or personal glory-based fishing websites. MuskieFIRST instantly attracted a loyal following, fast becoming the web's dominant Muskie Industry information source. With the success of MuskieFIRST, WalleyeFIRST was launched in October of 2002, and provided the first online video coverage of a Walleye Tournament, the 2002 World Walleye Championship. WalleyeFIRST continued to fine-tune it's walleye tournament coverage system over the following year, and in 2004 made a commitment to walleye tournament angling, providing the most immediate, complete, and original coverage ever available in the walleye industry, and even the fishing industry in general. That same year, WF also developed the World Walleye Rankings, the only professional walleye angler ranking system in existence. The WWR is an extension of the original LeaderBoard concept used on other sites around the web. WalleyeFIRST principals pioneered the tournament LeaderBoard concept, developing the "first ever" LeaderBoard used in the fishing industry. The idea quickly spread, and now you can see live tournament LeaderBoard in use throughout the bass world as well. More FIRSTS Since then, WalleyeFIRST has become one of the leaders among walleye and fishing sites on the web, pioneering new features such as online user photo albums, an industry "News Trawler", streaming video and audio, the fully interactive tournament leaderboard, podcasts, and much, much more. What They're Saying All of the OutdoorsFIRST sites (WalleyeFIRST, MuskieFIRST, IceFishingFIRST) were recently awarded a TOP RATING in the book "Fishing the Web: 1000 Best Fishing Web Sites". Just 310 sites worldwide, freshwater and saltwater, received the "Top Rating" designation, of which fourteen were freshwater fishing sites. OutdoorsFIRST sites represent three of the top 14 rated websites in freshwater fishing.
