A video of my 3 custom topwaters. Turn up the volume. Some unique sounds!

Headbanger ran first.

Flaptail 2nd.

And 3rd: custom dbl flaptail I revisited after originally built back in "92" . Caught some nice fish on this bait, but looks were alot to be desired. The blades don't really flip out of the water like the single, but clash into each other to put out some strange sonics.

The 3 baits I used in the video:

JD, is that a rubber bumper on the hook of the double flap tail?

capt, Yes, it's a rubber tab that keeps the hook from wear on the body,+ it exposes all three hooks for better hookups.

Love all of my headbangers I've ever gotten from you run great and somthing not found every where which I like more fish haven't ever heard one of those before. But have you ever made a double headbanger?
And I personally dont use flaptails but I like the double clicker one I'd use that lol

Justin, Yes, been building the dbl headbanger since "92" also. If you think the single is loud, the dbl is just downright obnoxious . Just a bit more maintenance.

If you enjoy topwater like most, you should try a flaptail. Not the most exciting as far as water motion and sound, But will move some beasts on them !!! I go on trips with 4 flaptails in my box...that good!

Just finished clearcoating  and water testing  a dozen baits...ready to rock in "15".  Get one before their gone! Good stocking stuffer:)

That headbanger really makes a noisy fuss Jim. Love the metal sounds in the others as well. Nicely done.

 Thanks Gerry and Nick......JUST:

Finished a half dozen Headbangers. The 2 in the middle are a smaller diameter, which should result in better hookups. Same great POP as the original size. I will call them the Mini's, but are very similar in length.

IMO, many topwater baits today are way too FAT, and hookups are reduced due to,  too large of a body diameter.

The "plop-plop" from that head banger is out of sight JD! Great job on all of them.

Jim
Do you have any Headbangers available? Caught a few on it last season and would like a back-up. Also looking for a flap tail. Mostly black or a black with a bit of orange is good too. Great looking AND sounding topwater... they work! ??PM me with what you have or just to the post. Thanks!

I'll probably get 50 lashes for this post....or deletion...;)

Have about half dozen left of Each! Usually run out somewhere between Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.

 Thanks for asking...

I picked up one of Jim's flap tails this spring. Friday night right at moonrise I clipped it on for the first time...boom! A very healthy Vilas County 46"er absolutely slammed it! Next morning I tried the flap tail in a new spot and almost immediately had a nice follow from another mid 40's fish. What a fantastic bait!

Also painted this White Perch color which I really like in a crank bait.
