I'd like to think of myself as pretty organized when it comes to fishing. The stuff I've forgotten has been pretty trivial so far, but here are a few off the top of my head.

Luckily for me in all these cases someone else in the boat was more organized than me...

Sunscreen
Water
Bug Spray
Camera

So what are yours? This one is gonna be good!

I forgot the net on a weekend trip. Luckily it was the first tri of the tear to a lake with nerd of fish, but all small. Pretty fortunate.

Just this weekend I forgot to grab the walleye net out of the back of the jeep before launching. Lost a 20 inch walleye due to lack of said net. Oh well.

Well, this wasnt on the way to the lake but rather at the dock after fishing sll day. My friend forgot to turn off the livewell timer for the livewell (in a boat he had borrowed!) he had minnows in - some of which were dead floaters. We went to dinner for a few hours only to return to a boat that was half submerged within about an inch from water pouring in over the rear corner and sinking the boat completely b/c the boat was about 1/2 full of water! Long story short, the upper overflow drain in his livewell had plugged with several dead minnows and every time the recirculating pump clicked on the water was just overflowing the livewell and into the boat. It took us a little while to figure this out in the dark and chaos that ensued but we we finally did figure out what was happening, dragged the boat partially up on a nearby lift, bailed like hell and saved it.

Oh gosh...I've done some dumb stuff at 4 in the morning. 1 time I left the house, trailering boat and forgot to unplug my battery charger receptacle on stern on boat. 150' of extension cord stay plugged in over an hour ride on the highway dragging and bouncing behind without me ever noticing (still dark outside). I had a few cars pull up along side me trying to tell me but I thought they were saying "nice boat" and pointing back to it until the 3rd car rolled down his window and shouted out "your extension cord is still attached". Needless to say I was destroyed and I pulled over, unplugged it, put in truck bed and carried on to lake. The worst was hooking boat up, took off to lake (1.5 hrs away) and totally forgot to put my rods in the rod locker. Got to the lake, out to my favorite spot and open the rod locker to see I'm an idiot. I sure didn't catch anything that day....

Years ago I forgot the net but it didn't matter. I also for got my rain gear once. The dumbest on was I hooked up the boat but never raise the wheel on the front tongue jack. When I got to the landing the wheel that was left was about 2" in diameter, I managed to rig up a replacement.

I honestly don't forget much anymore, the new boats mine is a (Tuffy 1760) has so much storage that I basically store everythting in the boat now.

Have a good day.

6 hr ride to the storage locker up north where I keep my boat and 90% of my gear----Forgot the keys for the lock on the door. Nothing that couldn't be taken care of---Just not at 7 in the morning-1/2 day shot but we got it out and back on the water

I forget a lot of stuff.... Good thing with me is I usually remember it about 5 miles down the road. My dad and I just went out two weeks ago during the week and I forgot the net and my bucktail box.

I always get super excited for opening day, as in forget everything running around lost type of excited. Went out on the water and about 1 hour in spotted a nice fish and made a cast at her. I was so pumped watching the fish get agitated and scream up to my lure which was now boat side, then she smashed it. It was a good 2 minute fight in about a foot of water, then I reached for the net. Oh #*#*!

Going to a tournament an hour from home, I forgot all my Down East rod holders. My wife met me half way. I was PO'd to say the least. lol. Now they never leave storage in the boat.

I've forgotten to put the plug in a time or two. Forgotten to take my trailer straps off. Forgotten a paddle one time when I took my canoe. I drove an hour one time and went through four gates to go bow hunting and forgot my bow...

Last Friday I got up early went and grabbed some suckers, loaded up the boat and started to the lake. 20 min down the road I remembered I left all the sucker rigs on the counter.

This year up at N I P I S S I N G, took the net out of the boat to make more room while jigging for walleye one night. Next day headed out to our spot on the lake 15 miles away only to realize we forgot the net. Ended up moving a giant that day but she wouldn't commit. Always wondered what we would have done if she did.

Anything and everything that can be forgotten at one time or another has been forgotten. sort of a Murphy's law situation

Fish about 40miles from home, went to launch the boat, and realized the key for the boat was in the house. Another day, forgot the suckers, turned around and got them, only to forget the sucker rigs in the house. Had an old crispy one in the boat that ended up putting a fish in the boat.

These weren't me, but I was along for the fun

- Forgot to undo the straps
- Forgotten boat keys
- Forgot to empty the livewell and let dead minnows rot in there for a week during the hottest part of summer. The smell was unbelievable
- Forgot to charge the boat
- Forgot to buy gas
- If anyone needs a transom saver I can point you to a reef where it finally fell off

My buddy left his wife at the bait store. Going down the highway he saw the shop truck flashing it's light and beeping the horn. They couldn't live with her either......

Lol. That was no accident, he burned the tires out of the bait store parking lot and was driving 90mph down the highway! They could barely catch him!

When young, dumb and broke we had used a pop up camper in November in Vilas County for several days. Buddy didn't fill any propane, which gets cold inside the camper, cause 1/32 of plastic doesn't keep out 24 degrees at 1AM. It snowed 4" that night so we had our gear inside. Got to the lake without the troll motor foot pedal. Fortunately going back to get it and going to another lake produced good memories of multiple fish.

I've forgotten all the classics...net, tackle box, gas, wife...but one of the worst was when I forgot to put in the pin in the swing tongue. It makes a mighty loud noise when my boat tried to ride in the bed of my truck vs. firmly secured behind the Chevy.

I forgot my cell phone and the trolling motor remote this last summer. I was just out scouting so it wouldn't have been a big deal.....until my motor quit working. Luckily I was able to wave someone down and get towed back to the landing.

I used to always remove my locator from the boat when done fishing. 1 day while driving home, 10 miles from the boat landing, this guy pulls up next to me a 55mph and yells something about a black thing on my truck's rear bumper. I stop on the shoulder to check it out. Yep, there's the Humminbird 4000 sitting on the bumper. Right where I left it. I still owe him a BIG thank you.
