I have an 80lb Terrova w/ the I-pilot. Recently when using the I-pilot remote it will speed up on it's own. This happens without the Cruise Control being on. Has anyone else had this happen?

only thing i can think of is the foot pedal was set higher and you bumped the momentary button or used the constant button

A few times when it happened, I was in the back of the boat fishing by myself. I will have to investigate a little more this weekend. Thanks for the reply though.

Might try unplggng the footpedal and see if it still happens. That would help narrow it down.

Are you sure you aren't bumping any buttons on the remote. I clip the remote to one of my belt loops and i have bumped buttons while landing fish, changing baits, or wrestling with a snag. Just a thought!

I'd try replacing the battery(ies) in the remote first.
