I bought a huge coil of bucktail wire, .051, cause I want to start with 20 inches of wire, what is the best way to get my 20" of wire i cut of the coil perfectly straight?

Thanks in advance.

Make an adjustable jig. You can get ideas from guitar builders that use them for fret work when making guitars. YouTube it.

I usually pick up pre cut pieces up to 15". Not sure how tight the wire is coiled up, but i havent had a problem straighting the wire by hand. I also did a quick search just to see if there were other options and found some others suggesting this: Wire Straightener - Have a bent leader? Straighten it in seconds with Du-Bro's Wire Straightener. Simply clamp the straightener onto your wire leader and pull. Your leader will come out straight and ready to use again. Can also be used on multi-strand cable. Available in two sizes to fit wire sizes #5 through #20.
