I recently fished the black river between Melrose and North bend for muskies. Didn't have much luck. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to where to try on the Black River. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

They are in there, however, fairly low density. All your typical river spots (pools, eddies, deadfalls...) should be tried. There are some long shallow sand flats in that river that can be skipped. Very scenic river but you have to travel to find muskies. I fish it out of a go-devil so i am able to cover lots of water.

Thanks. Does anyone know of any other productive stretches either off shore or boat on the black?

I agree with Beerfor….Muskies are there but low density IMHO. I had most of my luck in front of the Perry Creek Launch. Several are caught just below the Black River Falls Dam but I haven't tried that.
