I'm writing a story for MUSKIE which will focus on the Native American rock paintings found on muskie waters across the Canadian Shield.
I'm looking for several more good photos of various rock paintings; I currently have shots from 4 different sites. The one below is from Painted Rock Island on LOTW.
If you want to share a photo you can send it to me in a message or via email; please include the photographer's name and the water body.
I will give photo credit for any of the shots I use. Thanks!

RAZE! Still catching fish on baits you made up and painted to this day. Whatever you finished them with is the best clearcoat ever. 34 fish on one bait and still no chips.

I'm not sure if this helps you, but there are pictures of the Dryberry rock paintings on google earth... you could try to get in touch with the owners of the photos and get permission to use them.

In reference to the first picture from the painted rock channel. A native Indian friend of mine told me that the devil is holding hands with the chief in the painting. The chief would also typically be the medicine man of the tribe and that this symbolizes that the medicine man gets his powers from the devil. I'm not sure how accurate this theory is but that is what I was told from a well respected member of the community. I will see if I can find any pictures from the 80's in my albums because there was a lot less moss then and it was clearer

If you look at Whitefish Bay, LoTW, on Google Earth you'll find painted rocks pictures. But it has to be Google Earth and not Google Maps. Some of the islands around Whitefish Bay Camp has painted rocks. I don't know about the copyrights though. But at least you know they're there and may be able to find a way to get usable pictures of them.
