We will be headed to eagle lake in the fall (first week in October), and I've talked to some friends about where they have caught some muskies there earlier in the year. Let's say they were there in September and catching them in 10 ft of water off of rock reefs. Any chance they will still be there in October or will they be transitioning to deeper structure that time of year?

Fish all the same spots you would in the summer but focus on Coleman's. If you get up to Muskeg, spend a lot of time @ World Record Point rocks by the trappers cabin! My best guess would be Niven and Osbourne though.

What would you be throwing? We typically throw mag dawgs/pounders, believers, depth raiders and grandmas, all casting. This year however we are willing to give trolling a serious shot, so any tips there would be a big help as well.

They will be on rock reefs, but on the edges of the deep water basins. They will have vacated the shallows as the weeds will be gone. Great time for a serious lunker! If too cold to cast, troll the same types of areas and good luck!

Also the southern shoreline off of south twin island. Vern Carson (top muskie guide at one time) thought the cisco spawned there

Thanks guys! Any ideas are much appreciated. I had posted earlier this year that this will be our 3rd trip to eagle and last year was rough, 1 musky all week between 6 guys. We are all converted bass fisherman, so hopefully our results will get better every year with more time on the water and these forums of course!
