i'd say around a couple inches, the skirt is about the size of my hands close to 7-8 inches if i had to guess. I also clip off the extra coil and add a clear coat to the wraps when i'm ready to put it all together.

Yes ive made them for others before, I like knowing that anglers in other states are catching fish on something i made, since i'm not able to get out of Wisconsin too often. Dont get me wrong I still like make them for the badger state as well, plus it helps feed my hobby

I made that mistake once, but I used it for the majority of a tinsel bait. I'm hoping that having the small amount inside the tail and not very long will help, I didnt use that much and normally wouldnt but i wanted some red flash and didnt have anything else at the time. now i'm wishing that i wouldve just waited. Do you think that much will be a problem, I made that for someone else and dont have anywhere to cast it first and last thing i want to do is send of a rats nest.

Glad you like them, hope you catch the big one!! Cant wait til this ice melts, I have a pile of new tails i'm dying to try out this year. It's great to know that my lures will be fished in a couple new states this year and even a new country.

You know it!! caught the flew for over a week, so that put a damper on things. Plus my supplier has been out of two style blades holding up a few builds. Time to start buying in bulk or finding a new supplier, I like the free stuff but it doesnt do any good if it's not what i need to finish my lures.
