Gordie and I are already signed up. Can't wait. Saw some really nice fish last year but nothing in the boat. Will have to change that this year. Had a great time last year and even won a couple baits. Making a couple new custom rods which I will have to try out. See you all Aug. 18th.
Tight lines,

Thursday usually is dedicated to folks cruising the various cabins and shooting the breeze, sharing meals, etc. Last year we cooked up 6# of fillets and 3# of venison at our cabin....gone in 20 minutes.

Lodging, the evening meals and activities listed above, dockside seminars with lots of cool prizes, and more. Not sure on the age thing, will check that and let you know.

It's a really good time, and the fishing is great.

It's a great time, Mike, you'll enjoy it for sure! Bring some headlamps and spend some time out after dark, that's what I'd suggest anyhow.

Talked to Mr. Amundson last night, got the deposit sent in, it's official. If I'm going to be night fishing, I guess it's time to pony up for the Blue Water LED light kit!

Once you call in and reserve your spot, Steve Amundson will assign cabins according to your group size. Some cabins have 2 people, but most average from 4-10 people depending on cabin size.

What's really cool is, you get the opportunity to stay and meet with other anglers, it's almost like your family for a week. The atmosphere is like no other I've seen in a fishing camp.

Don't hesitate to give Steve or Joe a call, they'd be glad to answer any other questions as well!

Just talked with Steve, there are 18 spots left as of right now. Camp will be full by the time the outing comes around so reserve your spot ASAP. Give Steve or Joe a call, they'd be glad to get you signed up!

No Docking fee,....but They sure give you a whole lot more than just a bed to sleep in..........
Fishing info, first night horderves and beer, lure giveaways,A great steak dinner on Wens, with beer., awards night dinner, with cocktails or beer and second to none Hospitality,..... This package is probably worth $1,400. any where else.
The most important thing about this Outing is making new fishing buddies that will last a lifetime.
Oh,....... The time around the Campfire every night is a hoot,.... tons of STORIES and LAUGHS for sure.

AND the Fishing ain't to shabby either

I am most likely headed up alone. Will have the Tuffy in tow though. Angry Panda might be convinced to drive up with enough persuasion though?

Question for anyone who has gone to one of these outings...

Besides the $350 cost to stay there and gas for travel (because it's relative to where you are coming from), how much do you end up spending on this trip? Ballpark figures are fine, I'm just trying to get a sense of the total costs involved.

If the question is are there "hidden" costs for this trip once you get there, the answer is no. Your costs are going to be food/beer and gas to get there/back and boat gas. As far as boat gas, you don't need to run all over the lake, some of the best fishing is within a couple of mile of the resort. I've gone the last 2 years and it's well worth the cost.

This is fine to know but how much were those beer/food costs? Again, it's relative to the individual...I'm just looking for that ballpark figure to see if this can fit into some other things I have planned.

No arguments that the cost would be well worth it for a fishing trip but there are other things in my calendar that take financial precedence.

With food, beer, gas, lodging costs what neighborhood are we in?

Where are you coming from and are you traveling alone? I had a 900 mile round trip which would be around $250 for gas. I had a buddy so we split it.

With the trip, you get 3 meals (pizza, steak, fish fry) so had 4 meals to take care of which we split. Probably spent $75 on food, and another $25 on beer.

Non-resident license was $29.50/7 day.

I think we bought another $50 in gas at the resort.

I'd guess in total I spent another $350.

another $25 on beer.

Amateurs.

Thanks, this stuff helps. The distance depends on where I'm coming from...my job requires travel so it's 800 miles round trip from where my boat is kept but 1200 round trip from where my office is.

Not sure if I would be travelling alone or with someone. That would depend on finding someone I won't want to strangle after that long of a drive.

So a ballpark figure would be somewhere between $750 to $850 for the total trip....hmmm....
