| Hey all, I recently got an old 1976 Lund Guide 315 (the old fiberglass tri hull). The boat is in very nice shape and has all the original seats etc. I know I have seen some of these boats around on this site but am looking specifically for interior shots of basic modifications additions etc. Any pictures would be cool to get some idea's - thanks!

Location: Minocqua, WI | Mine's a 1979 model. I don't think there's much of a difference between the 76 and 79 models.
I bought it for $600 in October 2007 and re-did everything in it. Motor was rebuilt too.
The whole thing was a piece of crap but now I think it's a treasure. It's my main rig too.

this boat only actually is going to be for sale soon...needs a little transom work..but the decking is all done etc!
I have fished three guys out of this with no issues...BIG front deck!

| Thanks guys, that is exactly what I was looking for. Mine is a tiller so that rear deck is what I was thinking would be super easy - and the extended front looks pretty simple as well.
Mine is totally unwired - CPainter, did you or someone do the running lights aftermarket or was that original?

Location: Madtown, WI | Not sure on the running lights...I know the back one is a rig job someone else did...I like it though, its telescopic up through the back corner.
Here is a pic of the front deck framing...pretty straight forward, probably a little overkill. On my next one I might back off a little but stick with the 3/4" decking.

| If you replaced some of that wood with aluminum you'd be much lighter on the water. But if that weight wasn't a big deal, wood certainly can be easier to find and work with. |

Location: Madtown, WI | Yeah agree on the alum. But wood is cheaper!! I bought the wood for my next one today...going with 2X3's and 5/8" decking...will be a little less wieght in front. The one in the picture isn't bad actually....but get two big guys up front it did run a little lower ......
So if I back off a little on the wood I will be fine.

| CPainter - do you have a new hull your getting tricked out? Would love to see the progression...I am waiting for mine to come back from the fiberglass shop where I had a few spots taken care of to keep a 33 year old boat in top shape for awhile. Getting antsy to get started as time flies and the season is coming up! |

Location: Madtown, WI | Yep "new" to me. Started it last night. It is slightly different then the lund in the picture in that it had two bench seats that added as the support to the side walls. So I am going to handle the build slightly different. It looks the same...puke baby blue shell lake boat....

| I have a 1976 Lund 315 that I am working on. I have pictures of it on my website. I really like this little boat! I was surprised how well it handles. It's really stable. It planes out really fast and it'll zip along fully loaded with me, my son, my chasapeake bay retreiver and all of our gear at a respectable 25mph! I can't wait to get her back on the water this spring. Unfortunately, we're supposed to be getting a foot of snow by this Saturday...DANG IT! | Nice boat. I have my dads 1969 model 315 hull 1446 and I just love this old boat.

Location: Not where I want to be! | Here are some pics of a 70's vintage 315 I rebuilt in 2006. I had a 48" aluminum recirculating livewell fabricated for it . It was a great sucker fishing boat. I have sold the boat since.

| These are great pics! How did the boats fish? Do they handle bigger 2000 acre lakes alright?
I git rid of my modified Hydrostream fish/ski boat last year that I spent a lot of time restoring. I had to get myself a new project and picked up a 1976 Lund 315 Guide Boat. Wasn't sure if I wanted to keep it more original (aqua blue) or something more modern. Started Google searching for pics and sure enough, some muskie nuts had the best ones. Both boats look great, gents. Nice work.

| I had one of these for years bought it from Nisswa guides association,,these were the boats Al and Ron Lindner fished out of in the early days, They are great boats to stand in and cast but you get WET in any type of winds or waves,design was meant to smash the waves not cut them. They are a great boat for smaller waters or nice weather.
You can get these cheap now but if you find one and it's repainted,,go over the transom with a "Thorough" inspection the transoms have been known to crack and get brittle. |

Location: Minocqua, WI | 10 years since I bought it and refurbished mine, I still fish from it when I can. Easy to launch and load quickly, perfect for small to mid size waters.
Next project will be eventually converting it into a tiller and repowering........ assuming the transom remains in good shape to handle it.

| The old glass Lunds are sweet. I had a glass Lund Nisswa Guide for a while. Great little boat. They're hard to find though...
