Wanting to get a few smaller bucktails(8’s or less). What ones are you guys using? Want some that start up consistently.

Yea I have been looking at the esox assault. Which one has the single blade? Saw the drone too, might grab a couple of each, don’t have many bucktails. Also been looking at the jackrabbit, musky mayhem makes it I think.

Picked up a few Spanky Fireflys this winter. They are heavy for their 4” length so they should be great for burning while also downsizing during difficult summer bites. I am going to try them this week for the first time so I’ll give you a report.

I also like to take Blue Fox size 6 blades and put them on Mepps marabou tails for early season. You can mix and match colors quickly too with the Mepps tails.

The EAA 8s is the short one that's the ones that I throw in the double blades a bit more compact

Anyone have any idea which esox assault is a single blade. I know they make a single 8 just not sure if it is the EA8 or the EAS 8.

Single blade drone or double? Kinda like the looks of the double blade drone with the esox assault tail.

Just ordered a couple twin drones. Like the looks of them and the esox tail looks good too! Now hope they get here by Friday so I can use them Saturday.

Consider the Ghosttails 300 & 400 series also.
#7 fluted, tied on a lead collar for extra weight.
I swap out the treble for a single/siwash hook around weeds.

Looking at the new Apache double 8. Looks good and can fished super slow or burned. Might have to try it out. A little speedy though.

They are worth every penny! Awesome bait. Best starting small bucktail I've ever used, blades start instantly every time. I love their Triple Blade Apaches too, but they do need to be "popped" once in a while to get to start, the doubles never seem to need that.

all the blades that sit on a beads with an easy spin clevise, start to spin as soon as you reel.there is no magic there.you have just 2 blade co and i think all the clevis came from the same place.the story of some co bucktails that are spinning more or sooner than the others is pure bs.

I have the Model 4 which is a double 7, and I have also put size 8 blades on that frame (the river guys like those). Maybe all blades sit on beads but not all sit on a flexible wire. A difference.

Not true. Musky Frenzy makes their own Clevis for their Apache Bucktails, it is 1 piece instead of two individual Clevis’s. And trust me it makes a huge difference! Especially on the small size 8 double blades.

yeah i forget these one,i don't know if they were frenzy but it was not spinning very well,it look like it spin slower. the regular twin easy spin are doing the job really well since day 1

The trollers get the .040, the casting get .025. But I've made them with .040 and in over under combination.

That's a new color, I will have those in size 10 soon, right now I have the 9's. I have a painted black size 10 .025 on hand.

Inhalers. Heavy enough to chuck into the wind, and they still catch fish !

Bucher 700 Tin Bucks. Really good baits for burning heavy weeds. A good jerk will usually shed weeds when you snag up.
