Posts: 86 Location: Illinois | Looking to buy a new topwater, the propellers on my old one don't start up well. Any recommendations? I've seen mixed reviews on topraider's.

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | Sidejack - 5/22/2018 10:09 PM Gooch's Tallywacker The first two fish I ever caught when I actually started fishing for muskies were both 51 inchers caught two weeks apart on the same Tallywhacker. Didn't hold up very well unfortunately

i also like the tallywhacker, but it's far to be the most durable one.you have to not rush your fish because the wire could open.once tweaked it make a lot of noise and vibration. btw why there is not so much love for the rumbler ? personally mine make very loud plop and fish are loving them.

Posts: 8716 | If you get a "good one" the old wood pacemakers can be great. The old topraiders are good, too. Different sound. My beef with those is its easy to knock the weight loose. Chopper is a good choice. Not sure why, but some days they like one over the other. I typically carry three different tail props...

The best way I can describe it is that the really old TR's go "whirr", kind of a metallic sound that the newer ones don't have. Not sure it makes a #*^@ bit of difference to the fish, but they definitely sound different.

Posts: 3136 | LOW RIDER is the best prop bait for heavy weeds,,the front prop acts has a shield it grabs any floating debris and allows the back blade to spin
