Posts: 1100 | Looks sweet :D the jig pic didn't post thought. Just started to paint my own softbaits as well, super fun new element rather than just pouring different colors :D

Posts: 1023 | The jigs are there now. Sorry about that. I am super addicted to this hobby. My personal collection is sick The action on my paddletails is now perfect - belly roll, great tail kick and hey will wander or flutter up on their side with a quick reel crank. Super realistic. Took 5 versions to get to this point. Have sold a ton this Spring - not sure where I am going with that angle though. It’s a lot of work when u have a family and full time job. We will see. I may sell a couple hundred a year or I may just make them for myself and buddies. Thanks for looking.

Posts: 1100 | Jigs Looks sick as well :D have been thinking about making one for quite a while, but never got around to do it. Yes its a lot of work, i only make for me and a couple of buddies, but i have like 120+ spares my self hanging in the bait room :P There are a LOT of people here in Europe that makes paddle tail swimbaits, so its nice to know that there are only 1-2 other persons fishing with the same one as me, when hitting the water :P

Posts: 1023 | Thank you The paddletails are about 9.5” I have them weighted so that theycAn be fished at a medium or slower speed. They wander. I am working on making a beaver harness that can handle high speeds. I designed these for Fall fishing on St.CLair mostly and wanted a slower and erratic bait yo mimic those shad schools.

landry do you think it's possible to convert a big paddle tail without harness into a internal harness ? was in love into the concept of an external one but it's not fun ,as soon as you caught weed it came off .

Posts: 1023 | The only way to do that is to clone the bait you like by making a silicon around it. Then design your insert and weight so that it. CAn be laid in the mold and plastisol poured around it. If u do this then it’s just for u and not for sale as it’s a direct knockoff Of course that’s the short version. It will be challenging at times.

Posts: 1100 | Supertroller, You could use some "cork screw"/"shallow screws" to keep the hooks locked better in place.

I know but i can't do it because im using 2 trebles ,the nose have that cork screw and it's interconnected with the trebles

maybe it would work if i groove a slit at the belly ?

Posts: 1100 | Think the result would be better, if you ad two shallow screws, and splitrings the trebles to them, (and of course keep the external wire)

Posts: 1100 | I havn't got any of them, but fished my buddies a couple of times, and i liked the mcrubbers action the best, at the speed i fished it, it seemed to have more action.

landry personally i would choose wingman or shadzilla i dont know if the action is nicer but it really outfish the mcrubber .but like almost all the European paddletail it's an outside harness .when i'll got the time i'll shoot you a picture .out of the popular ones the only one i have never use is the one from mi.and of course the one that you make but they are not popular FOR NOW ! ZINOX im not sure to understand it. i make mine and they are like that https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1365/4699/products/IMG_6964.jpg?v=... it's ok but like i said as soon as you got weed it came off and one it came off too many time it simply don't stay

Posts: 1100 | This is not pretty but it shows the concept, almost the same you do now, but i would ad the wire to the split ring, instead of the "spike," and then attach the split ring to the 2 screws after they are inserted into the bait. ithink i'll make this one for sure it should be as good as any internal harness .you see you solve my problem with your artistic talent. so even when you caught a fish the treble stay in place or it could broke the lure ? thanks it sound good

Posts: 1100 | My guess is that it would break the bait maybe not the first fish, but sure it want last forever, I usually fish with the "spikes" and then push one of the treble point into the bait :D

Posts: 1023 | Nothing will be as durable as in internal harness that is bonded to the plastic unfortunately - but the one drawn above is the next best plan until someone makes a hug paddletail with an internal harness.

Landry imo it's not that clear, external will put your lure away from the mouth during the fight but at the other end every time the wire is moving out it could make it more difficult to stay hooked .i have have a wingman that have caught 9 musky and there is almost no big bite mark on it but now the spikes got no meat to grab on. i think i'll also explore the tube insert ,but it will be just one treble for a 10 inch lure. btw sorry to deflect the subject

Posts: 1023 | I totally agree^^^ Both have their pros and cons. I have soft baits that have lasted one fish and some lasted 20 from the same company. That can be annoying but I still have so much confidence in soft baits.
