I think Im going to head over to Gatineau and fish the Ottawa River. Pretty stoked, I love the look of some of those Ottawa river mustard colored fish.

Follow up question - anyone going to Guelph Saturday for the show?

You know the Ottawa opens like a week after all the other zones...you going to be able to wait that long? Also if you actually launch from the Gatineau side you might want to get your QC permit.

Only Muskie fishing I’ll see is on the TV for awhile. Way too much on my plate this spring.

I'm rigging our new 'up north' ride tomorrow and Saturday, will hit the water for some sort of fish somewhere, most likely South of here. Ice still locking up a lot of the water here.

Will take some time:
Power-Pole, Port
Two Smooth Moves, one a new Air with electric built in air adjustment.
Sonar/GPS on bow, Sonar/GPS and Sonar/GPS on console
interior and docking lighting
Terrova iPilot
Aqua-Vu 7i on console face with by through gaming recorder, camera cord storage under console, audio recorder and hydrophone
On board three bank charger
Bike seats forward and aft
4 Cannon Sport trak rod holders
Rod tie downs
Transducer board
two power ports for cameras
4 batteries
sport windshields
prop
bump board caddy, net clips
oil
gasoline
Maybe hit the water Sunday.

I fish river mouths and adjacent flats for eyes on Northern WI opener. This year the ice went off the day of the opener and I ended up launching the boat on Sunday. Saw a bunch of Musky rolling around a couple of spots I fish. Water temps at the surface were about 49-53.

as long as one shore is at qc and the other is at ont you can fish on both side of the ott river with qc or ont fishing license.the only thing you can't do is moving in rivers that don't share is territory. it's not the same thing when the st-lawrence is shared with ont and ny.you must have both licenses if you cross the line

You telling me if your in the parking lot of the launch and the QC MNR walks up and asks for your fishing licence your 100% sure your ok with just your ON licence? I wouldn't bet $ on it. (especially if you parlé anglais)

If you launch from Ontario side I agree with you 100%, but he did say he was launching from QC side. Only reason I mentioned it was I think there's a better chance of running into them at the launch then on the water.

1000000% sure.stupid rumor start exactly like that.you have obviously never put your boat in the water from the quebec side, so where did you get that '' INFO''? I think you should know that some boats users are not fishing at all,why the gw would take care of a parking or a launchboat .it's purely a municipal thing like it is all across canada. fyi i fish all year long water shared by both provinces.ask collin's

Lake Of The Woods around the Labyrinth Bay, Rat Portage Bay, Keewatin Channel,Devil Gap and Barrier Island areas. May venture down some logging roads on Sunday to try a couple of inland lakes where the Muskie numbers are fairly high,... always good for some fun with medium sized fish.

Hope the ice is off the lake by then, lol!. Actually it is near all melted away,... but it was looking as if it was going to hang around for a while a couple weeks ago or so when the temps took a dive to the point of new ice being formed.

Here she is so far. Still need to get the Aqua-Vu on the rig, but we are filming that process and Keith is at the NWT covering that event.

We slimed her up well on her first trip, slamming the walleyes and pike on Creatures. Caught a bunch form 19 to 25, and a couple pike over 30. LOVE the iPilot feature, spot lock is the bomb. I use one of the dash sonars for a gps full time, and the other for sonar, and changed the bow unit to a 7" Helix 2. Comfortable, great ride, stable and low profile at rest. The Smooth Moves Air is one heck of a suspension set, that thing rocks. Power-Pole was set up to starboard, a boarding ladder is port. The Lund Boats flip over rear deck/rear seating option is really nice, too. She's ready for Muskies when season opens in a couple weeks.

Skip the opener, prefer to avoid crowds. In the NYS waters openers can be busy. Same reason I won't fish a tourney again. Good luck however.

Here's the rules from the QMNR site. Guess I was wrong... But make sure it's not a conservation licence or you'll get a ticket!(Does that make me right?) They do sit in the parking lots and we are talking about people fishing. Have a nice day.

The holder of an Ontario sportfishing licence is deemed to be the holder of a Québec fishing licence for fishing in zone 25 and in Lac Clarice, Lac Labyrinthe and Lac Raven (zone 13) and in the portion of Lac Saint François (zone 8) located west of a line drawn from Pointe Beaudette on the north shore to Pointe Saint-Louis on the south shore. The same goes for the holder of a New Brunswick fishing licence when he engages in line fishing in the Patapédia (zone 2) and Ristigouche (zones 1 and 2) salmon rivers . The fish caught in these waters and kept are deemed to have been caught in Québec. You must, therefore, take them into account when calculating the catch limit and the possession limit

Was lucky enough to fish with Alex Boutin and John Anderson (Ottawa River Musky Factory) for opener. Boated 6 fish. Some were nice :D
