Posts: 14 | What is the highest number of muskies you have caught on one lure? In a single season and in the lifetime of a lure? Last year I bought a surface lure and the next six muskies I caught were on that bait.

Posts: 374 | I tend to mix up use different lures over my 40 years of fishing so numbers for one year may not be too high. For example over one year the highest number of muskies is 7 on the same black 9" Suick. Over its lfetime I have probably caught 25+ on that same black SUICK but it is no longer very black and very beat-up and repaired a few times. It still seems to do better than newer versions.

I've experienced a similar pattern. Its strange how a lure can be super productive one season and not so the next

Posts: 32784 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I have an original Dog Turd that has well over 100, largest two 50 and 51. It's an oldie, and has been rebuilt twice. Hand built wood lure. Still fishing with it.

Posts: 20178 Location: oswego, il | For some reason i cannot edit my original post. Here is the bait. Hard to see the scratches but the bait is still in great shape. The lip makes it sink but the action is much more erratic. Attachments ---------------- 20180428_072646_1524938609310.jpg (159KB - 282 downloads)

Posts: 246 | I have two homemade baits that probably have a dozen each on them. Ones a glider and the other is a crankbait. Both have been repainted a bunch of times. I can say it's not the paint job on them catches fish since I change it up each time.

Posts: 68 | Ive got a jackpot that I remember my dad buying at a show at least 20years ago. Found it in his box of unused gear about 5 years ago. Easily over 30 fish on that thing. I remember a night fishing below a spillway where my tackle failed fighting a fish and spent a good hour waiting for it to float up as we chased the fish in the middle of the night trying to throw the bait. I'd go swimming in the middle of January to get that jackpot back. Might be superstition but my buddies will not buy the same pattern jackpot for great of jinxing mine.

Posts: 612 | I only used 5 baits, that's it for muskies. It's kind of a toss up, Rapala salt water, Depth-Raiders, DDD's and spinners.

Posts: 14 | 2 on the same Mepps last year. Prior to those it had a ton of Pike action and I'm convinced it was bent JUST PERFECTLY due to all the action! I had the 10" Weagle in cisco and had 10+ missed hooksets one season...that thing moves fish
