I was wondering what you guys have experienced using slower reels in spring. I was thinking of using my winch in the spring for slow presentations like slow rolling spinners and slow jerkbaits and cranks. Is 22" just too slow even for colder water in the spring? I have two other faster setups with 31" and 33" IPT. I have a couple reels pulling 26" IPT would they be better suited for slow spring time presentations?

That depends on how fast you turn the handle. I'm not discouraging you from fishing a little more slowly in colder water, but I have yet to encounter a muskie that can't swim faster than you can reel.

And thanks Todd. You just gave me flashbacks from college, and not the good kind they promised me 30 years ago!
