Posts: 200 Location: Milwaukee, WI | Heading up to Sabaskong Bay in early July for the first time. Anyone willing to share any info about chasing Muskie in that area of LOTW. Any info would be greatly appreciated.. PM would be great.

Posts: 256 Location: plant earth | Great area to fish. Areas around blueberry island i like. There are spots really close to camp as well. Im sure the camp guides can help out as well. If you can go fish with them for a 1/2 or full day. Its well worth it.

Get the Sab hydrographic map and look for neck down areas...points with shallow shelves...the more complex the better. Also buy the map chip for your device and you can use that to pass time over winter to scout the spots that look good on the map. Every spot and island looks good but you need to narrow it down to find the best ones. Early July might be tough depending on how spring works out weather wise.

Justin should give you some guidance but someone already said, "If it looks good, fish it." Many good articles in Musky Hunter magazine over the years if you have them or have friend who has them. Google LOTW muskie fishing. Do your research. Unless you fish with an experienced Sab Bay fisherman, you'll need to develop your spots. Take and keep good notes. Over the years I've been there, my milk run of proven spots is getting larger with alternatives in case of high wind. Resist the urge to drive forever. The muskies start in Mylies Bay and you could fish a week within 5 miles, yet it is fun to explore. Just don't spend all your time in transit.

Posts: 14 | Water temps will peak in late July. If water is above 76° around Sabaskong then head north about 8 miles into "Miles Bay" where the water's much deeper and will be cooler. Water clarity is higher there also so use natural colored lures up there.
