When chuckin a pounder all day I dont think it's the weight of the rod that is the source of fatigue imo

St. Croix makes a lot of great rods as long as you go with the Legend Tournamenr or Legend Elite series. If you want a designated pounder rod, choose a different brand rod or go with custom Predator rod.

I would argue that all of St. Croix's rods are great rods. My first ever musky rod was a Musky Mojo rod, and I still use it to this day. Would put it up against most rods for functionality and performance.

As far as a dedicated pounder rod...probably not wanting to go with a Mojo. However, they handle almost anything else extremely well. You dont need to spend $350 to get a good musky stick.

Yes, they are! I only have 1 rod at or above that amount, and it is very nice! I notice a difference, for sure. Is it double the price difference? That is what I have a hard time believing.

Ya I hear ya....ive used other cheaper rods that buddies have and ya as far as functionality they are good... I just don't know what it is when I get st. Croix or one of my predators in hand... Something just feels different.
