Long story short (no pun intended), the boat had a short and melted pretty much everything. Either bad battery or bad ground is what they are saying.

I have a 597ci now on the dash. I figure now is the time to run wire for new electronics since they are replacing: switch, gauges, boat harness, engine harness etc.

The shop told me they don't suggest a deep cycle for the starting motor battery. Trouble is, I'd like to run a Helix 10 (Gen1) and a Helix 7 CHIRP G2N on the dash, along with moving the 597ci to the bow. Is a regular battery going to be able to handle that?

Will the Helix 10 Gen1 network with a Helix 7 CHIRP G2N on the dash with one transducer? What options will "share" with each other? I've found so many conflicting opinions.

Thanks.

unless you have an onyx unit that will share mapping they only share waypoints and transducer readings if you set it up so that unit will read the other units transducer.

no. each unit is its own GPS. even though you see the waypoints on one unit from the other unit you can only modify the waypoints on the unit it was created on. also, you will not see the WP from the other unit unless its on. i always turn them both on and run them all day, that way the tracks are there on both units. there is a "sleep" mode that you can put the unit your not using in that conserves battery usage but the units gps is still working and waypoints show up on the other unit. thats the way i use them together. i have two HELIX 10's bought this year so i hope its the same on your units.

What information shares when I network a…

G2N unit with MEGA to any G2N?
-Share all transducer information-including MEGA, GPS, waypoints, tracks,
trails, I-Pilot Link and 360

G2N unit with MEGA to Helix G1 (9/10/12)
-Share most transducer information-but not MEGA (1200 kHz SI or DI), will
share GPS, waypoints, tracks, trails, I-Pilot Link and 360 (G1 Helix users must
be operating software version 1.350 in order to network to Helix G2N models)

G2N unit with MEGA to SOLIX?
-Share waypoints, tracks, trails. I-Pilot Link and 360

SOLIX unit to SOLIX?
-Share all transducer information-including MEGA, GPS, map card information,
waypoints, tracks, trails, I-Pilot Link and 360

Keep in mind that in order to share some of this information, you will have to change options in your "Network Source Setup" in the menu system in order to be utilizing a different transducer or GPS source.
